I started this as a way to make a little extra money for my family — collecting the bottles and cans we already had piling up at home.
But after a few runs to the recycling centre, I realised something:
Not just to earn some income…
But to make recycling easier for everyone, create something that gives back to the community, and maybe — if it grows — even build something bigger than just a pickup service.
Why I started this
I live in Gregory Hills with my family. We go through dozens of bottles and cans each week, just like most families. I knew they could be recycled for a refund, but we rarely got around to dropping them off.
Turns out, a lot of people feel the same way — too busy, too far, too hard.
That’s where the idea came from:
What if someone just picked them up for you?
So I printed some flyers, made a few posts, and got started. And now, Can Collectors Club is slowly becoming something special.
This isn’t a big company. It’s just me (so far). But my goal is to grow this into something that makes a real impact — not just on the environment, but on the lives of people in our neighbourhood.
